If you're here in Vancouver this weekend, I'll be leading a walk and giving a lecture about insects at Stanley Park. I'll be speaking about insects' roles as the architects of the natural world as we know it, describing the pivotal ways in which they have influenced the success or failure of other organisms. I will also address some of the amazing ways in which some insects transform their immediate surroundings into comfortable cities. The walk starts at 1:00 on Sunday, May 18th and lasts for two hours. For more information about this and other similar events, contact the Stanley Park Ecology Society.
