For about 12 years I have been messing around with this Jameco Electronics JE 755 Sound Experimentor Board, which I affectionately refer to as "The Booper" (in hommage to the band Negativland). It can make all the noises pinball machines made before they could speak, but it is difficult to recreate specific sounds. I sample this thing for basslines and loops, and I'm currently making a song entirely from sounds generated by The Booper.

What a lovely homage. I would like to build a booper, and this showed up in google image search. That jameco kit is a tip I will follow up on. I'd love a schematic of the original booper. Too bad it didn't ever get reverse-engineered by the fella who had it briefly for $100. I could build one!
