Last night's show at 1067 was a success on many levels. Electronics, guitar and accoustic bass were integrated seamlessly with surprise guests Kokoro Dance. The performance will hopefully lead to a multidisciplinary piece about ant supercolonies. Movements inspired by ants were melded with the austere and often severe performance style of bhuto dance, which originated in post-World War 2 Japan. I had thought the members of Kokoro were especially suited to explore the alien world of ants. Audience members were very curious about the various elements of my set-up, and expressed much appreciation and enthusiasm about the event. I was very happy to jam with Ron Samworth and Torsten Muller, two musical mavericks who have played throughout the world. Thanks to all who attended!
