Here's a look at a few stages of this trilobite's construction. Starting with a wire armature, I worked the sculputure to completion. The surfaceis hand painted, using a variety of brushes (but NEVER an airbrush).

I was there as a kid. We found trilobites(usually only a pygidium) when we camped on Georgian Bay. Lots of cool sculpins in the bay too!
